Entrevista a un Quechua Hablante

Buenas tardes Sr. Jorge, quisiéramos saber si podíamos realizarle algunas preguntas para una tarea de Lengua A. Sabemos que usted es un digno Quechua-hablante.

-Claro que sí. Adelante.

De acuerdo. ¿Dónde aprendió el quechua y a qué edad sucedió esto?

-Bueno yo nací en un pueblo a las afueras de Cusco, allí desde pequeño aprendí esta lengua pues todos los habitantes hablan eso. A la edad de cinco años ya lograba hablar claramente y con fluidez el Quechua.

¿Usted es el único de su familia que sabe de esta lengua?

-No, en mi familia lo hablan mis padres y mis cuatro hermanos pues como vivíamos en un pueblo donde la mayoría de los habitantes hablan quechua, era indispensable el saber esta lengua. Mis abuelos también lo hablan pero ellos tienen un mayor vocabulario.

¿Usted les ha enseñado esta lengua a sus hijos?

-Sí, porque me parece importante la preservación de la lengua y es importante que se transmita de generación en generación ya que es una manera de que se mantenga viva la lengua y se aumenten las cifras de las personas quechua-hablantes.

¿Considera que es fácil de aprender el quechua?

-Si cuando uno es pequeño escucha que se habla quechua y a la vez le dicen su significado, con el tiempo uno se lo memoriza y se le queda esas palabras. Así es una manera fácil de aprender pues cuando uno es niño, uno es como una esponja donde todo lo que les enseñan es absorbido rápidamente, para mi ese es el truco.

-Of course. Go on.

Okay. Where learned Quechua and at what age did this happen?
Well I was born in a village outside of Cusco, where I learned the language from an early age because all the people speak it. At the age of five and could fluently speak clearly and Quechua.

You're the only family he knows this language?

-No, in my family my parents speak and my four brothers because, as we lived in a town where most people speak Quechua, was essential to know the language. My grandparents speak it but they have a larger vocabulary.

Have you been taught this language to their children?

-Yes, because I think it important to preserve the language and it is important to be passed from generation to generation because it is a way to keep alive the language and increase the numbers of Quechua-speaking people.

Do you think it is easy to learn Quechua?

-If, when a small Quechua-speaking listener you tell yet its meaning, over time a saved and it fits those words. That's an easy way to learn because when you're a child, one is like a sponge where everything taught is rapidly absorbed, for me that's the trick.
